Eggshells
I created circle-shaped artworks using eggshells as the primary medium to symbolize and represent the cycles of life.
The cracking open of the eggshells symbolizes the beginning of life. The fragments of eggshells could then be arranged and reassembled into intricate circular patterns, symbolizing the ongoing cycle of birth, growth, decay, and rebirth.
Cyanotype printing onto the inside of the eggshell changes the colour to tones of blue. The shades of blue and the different textures of the eggshell then convey various emotions and meanings associated with each stage of the cycle. This aims to explore the interconnectedness of all living beings and the continuous cycle of birth, growth, and renewal that shapes our existence. Through the symbolism of eggshells and circles, I aim to invite viewers to reflect on the beauty and impermanence of life.
